However, his father pesters him to work with him in their government, whose ideals and traditions are being traded for more oppressive laws. Haunted by the war that took his mother’s life, news of his cousin’s death at the hands of Archayan radicals called the IMPERIALISTS sends Harius into a depression that threatens to destroy him.But soon, Harius is ordained by the DIVINE as the next steward of the KEY OF AGENCY, one of four keys that, during an event called the RAVARON, will reopen a cosmic realm where mankind will ascend to higher planes. Harius must keep the key secret, lest the FALLEN learn of its whereabouts and emerge from hiding to seize it—securing their dominion over mankind forever. To succeed as steward, Harius will need to master the meditative art of TRUE PRAYER in order to link with the Divine and wield the mystic white FLAME OF THE ORAHIE, enabling him to control the elements and ward off the Fallen.Accepting his role, Harius soon joins a delegation to discuss an alliance with the NEZITE UNION, whose enemies—the SOVEREIGNISTS—have united with the Imperialists in hopes of conquering the four realms of men. To secure a treaty, Harius and his comrade JESRUM must journey to the Sovereignist Nation to find and rescue the Union’s heir, PRINCESS RABELLA.Once in the Sovereign Nation, however, Harius learns things are worse than he first believed. With the help of the Imperialists, the Sovereignists have created flying machines far beyond any pre-existing technology- the people of the Sovereignist nation are downtrodden and oppressed- during a skirmish, Jesrum is taken captive- and to add to everything, the Divine give Harius a vision, asking him to unravel a riddle about the true worth of man. The Divine leads Harius to the LIBERATORS, a group of men seeking to bring freedom to the Sovereign Nation. There, Harius finds Princess Rabella, whose beauty and pragmatism charms Harius, compelling him to trust his own reasoning in order to complete his mission. Harius and the Liberators soon invade the Sovereignist’s stronghold to take out its leader, but after ignoring a prompting from the Divine, Harius loses his connection to them- as a result, they are all taken captive.Harius is then taken to the Imperialist leader, who, to Harius’s astonishment, is his supposedly dead cousin, CAYNIZ, who explains how he acquired his new station through treachery and learned to wield the dark powers of the Fallen. Cayniz steals the Key of Agency from Harius and puts him in a cell with Jesrum. While there, they engage in True Prayer through the night. By morning, Harius realizes he must trust in the Divine and not let fear control his life. His link to the Divine is then restored, and he retakes the key from Cayniz and rescues Rabella and the Liberators. They escape in a copter to the Union-Sovereignist boarder, where a battle between the Union and the Sovereignist armies soon erupts. When compelled by the Divine to return to his vision, Harius sees past his own confusion and finally learns of man’s potential to become divine. With this knowledge, Harius is marked as the ARCHRA KYE, a title given to the one who will usher in the Ravaron. With newfound strength, Harius uses the Orahie to defeat the Sovereignist army and saves the Union. When Harius returns to his homeland, he finds comfort in his new station despite the trials that lay ahead. Yet he is unaware that Cayniz is collaborating with the Fallen in a distant part of the world to intercept the other keys so as to prevent the Ravaron from ever taking place.
